TEAM² : Targeting recycling

The new TEAM² competitiveness cluster, certified on 11 May, is devoted to recycling and recovering waste (mineral, organic, glass, precious metals and rare earths) generated by the building and public works sector, industries and households, etc.
The goal is to develop new raw materials by studying, for example, the treatment and recovery of sediments, the removal of pollutants from land and even the recovery of precious metals from WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment). TEAM²’s objectives are the following:

• to develop innovations that make recycling competitive and ensure it is integrated in its environment;
• to support the shift in recycling towards the production of secondary raw materials;
• to allow these products to be designed according to a lifecycle analysis and eco-design approach;
• to ensure our region becomes one of European excellence in these future trades.
