NOVEMBER 2011 - N°8

01/12/2011

Patrice le Tellier, project leader on the board of the pôle d’excellence BTP :
Eco-construction is a progressive principle that must be passed on. It’s not a matter of ecological single-mindedness. Technologies change and mentalities have to do the same if a better level of performance is to be achieved. That’s why the economic players must be encouraged to change towards different energies and methods. We have to do away with the old habits. ”

Christian Traisnel, director of the centre of expertise working towards the development of eco-technologies, CD2E :
Eco-construction, is a method of building using local resources – be they materials or skills in the area – which perform well both technically and environmentally, and bring greater comfort but with far less impact on health and the environment. Obviously, there is a health aspect that must be factored in too. Eco-construction is also about taking into consideration the sustainability of results over time and an end to short-termism. ”
